About the Event

Join naturalist Robin Tapley on a journey through the woods to identify native species of mushrooms; the foray will be followed by a meal prepared by Exec. Chef Heather Pond using mushrooms species found in the Carolinian Forest.
 
The event includes: a mushroom inspired, gourmet lunch on our picnic pavilion; over-night lodging; and, complimentary local wine pairings for your meal to add to the experience.

Heather Pond, Executive Chef & Owner, Blue Elephant Brewhouse: Heather has been in the food industry for over 30 years, travelling between Europe, Asia and South America to pursue her passion for culinary. In 1992, she decided to give restaurant ownership a whirl, and found herself running a patio & brewhouse in Simcoe, Ontario. 

Robin Tapley, Naturalist & Adventure Specialist: Robin is the Professor of Adventure Expedition & Interpretive Leadership at Fanshawe College in Simcoe. His extensive knowledge of local wild medicinals, edibles, and fungi, transform a hike through the forest into a course in natural history and wilderness survival. Are you ready for an adventure?

Check-in to your Wilderness Accommodation where your local drink pack and s’mores kit are awaiting you.
EVENING
Dinner & Campfire
Take this opportunity to use your $50 LPEA Eat/Drink Card at the Marshview Patio or Hometown Brew Co’s Seacan. Settle at your private fire pit for the evening and roast a few s'mores to complete the experience.

Start your day off right with a hearty farmer's breakfast on the Marshview Patio. Take in scenic views of the Turkey Point Marsh with your morning cup of joe. Following breakfast, you will be required to check-out of your room before the foray begins.

Join Naturalist, Robin Tapley for an adventure in the Carolinian identifying different species of mushrooms and fungi.

Enjoy an immaculate meal with Chef Heather Pond in our Forestview event space. Your lunch will be prepared with the same species of mushrooms that you observed during your hike with Robin, to make this a true culinary adventure.
