9:30am - Check in
Participants check in at Long Point Eco-Adventures' Welcome Center

10:00am - Introduction to the Mysterious World of Mushrooms and Mushroom Foray in the Carolinian Forest
Participants will learn various picking techniques and how to identify species in the field using a detailed checklist which will be provided for each participant to bring home.

12:00pm - Examining Specimens
Under the watchful eye of Robin Tapley, participants will gather to separate and identify the variety of species of mushrooms collected during the foray.

12:30pm - From the Forest to the Fork
Executive Chef Heather Pond will introduce the culinary adventure of wild and cultivated mushrooms specialties paired with the finest selection of award-winning wines from the Burning Kiln Winery.

2:00pm - Session Wrap-Up
Participants have the opportunity to speak with the professionals on different techniques that were used during the program. Both experts would be happy to discuss individual opportunities for people as they go home to their different areas.

Day 1

4:00pm - Check In

6:00-7:30pm - Dinner at Burning Kiln Winery
Walk over to this beautiful winery and enjoy a dinner, complete with views of the vineyard.

9:00-11:00pm - Stargazing at Long Point Observatory
Discover nebulas, constellations and the planets; our 16" state-of-the-art Schmidt Cassegrain Meade Telescope will allow us to uncover the mysteries of the night sky.

Day 2

7:00-11:00am - Buffet Breakfast

9:30am - Check in for Mushroom Foray
Participants check in at Long Point Eco-Adventures' Welcome Center

10:00am - Introduction to the Mysterious World of Mushrooms and Mushroom Foray in the Carolinian Forest
Participants will learn various picking techniques and how to identify species in the field using a detailed checklist which will be provided for each participant to bring home. Guided by Robin, participants will walk along the trails of the Carolinian forest in search of a variety of edible mushrooms.

Glide through the Carolinian forest over native plant, animal, and bird life on our word-class ziplines. Your adventure is guided by two fun and knowledgeable guides. Historical and ecological narratives are included.
